Mortality rates measure the rate of death in the population and are essential to projecting life expectancies and population change. In these three papers the Australian Government Actuary use de‑identified microdata to analyse mortality rates within three sub‑groups of the Australian population:
- Residents in each state and territory;
- Overseas‑born Australian residents and Australian‑born residents; and
- Residents by relative socio‑economic advantage and disadvantage.
These papers were prepared for the Centre for Population by the Australian Government Actuary.
